1776 was created to commemorate the 250th anniversary of the United States, celebrating the enduring ideals of liberty, resilience, and the American spirit.
Featuring Benjamin Franklin’s timeless words, “The sacred fire of liberty is now entrusted to the people,” this Limited Edition Spiritile represents a milestone in Houston Llew history. For the first time, the glass at the heart of a Spiritile began in our own studio—melted, formed, and brought to life by hand. From the very first spark to the final kiln firing, 1776 embodies our deepest commitment to American craftsmanship.
To honor the passage of 250 years, 1776 was intentionally designed with a rich, antiqued finish. The deeper contrast and darker tones evoke the character of a treasured heirloom, recalling the enduring strength and history of our nation’s founding while allowing the luminous enamel to shine through.
