  • Artist Statement About This Piece

     

    We are assured of few things in life, but one thing we are promised: we will not always be on the winning team. As often as we should celebrate our wins, the moments that make or break us are the times we fall, we lose. That sting of having fallen, the skin burn or the dull ache, sticks with us much longer than the joy of making the grade. It defines and shapes us, not because it happens, but because we are our response to those falling moments. Thus, we choose to become the person who rises again.
